Single website hosting, can actually host more than one website - if a feature called addons is enabled. So the term single website hosting is confusing, right? Many hosts rebrand this to shared hosting instead and in most cases this narrows your choice down to - a shared hosting package - or reseller hosting package.

So, if shared hosting can host multiple websites - why the need for reseller hosting? Can't I just buy a shared hosting package for £6 month and host several websites? The answer is YES - you could, but there are a couple of things you need to consider.

The biggest difference between shared hosting and reseller, is that shared hosting lumps all websites into the same space. Reseller hosting separates each website into its own space.

On the plus side, hosting multiple websites in a shared hosting package means that you can access all website files and folders with one login. This sounds great if you are the only person who will be updating or accessing those files - but what if you need someone else to be able to access and update files for one of the websites? All of a sudden they will have access to all the websites and files, which you might not want.

Also consider some security aspects to this. Sometimes websites can be compromised. In a shared scenario, one compromised website will then allow all your websites to be compromised!

If you will only ever be the person updating the hosted websites, then shared hosting is probably the solution for you. Make sure that your passwords are strong and any application, ie wordpress, is always up to date. Our single website hosting packages allow you to host up to 5 addon websites.
